Take Things to the Next Level

Take Things to the Next Level

Sometimes being overly busy can translate to doing things half-heartedly. As I logged on to my blog today and watched it slowly sign in, it struck me that I needed to upgrade it in someway. To take things to the next level.

How? I need to do some research and look into that. I also want to spend some time on my clothing website too. Determine how to elevate the experience and make it more accessible to people. And the more I considered taking each of these websites to the next level, areas in my life popped into my mind that could also use some attention.

As the saying goes, the loudest child gets the most attention, for me the most demanding work has gotten the most attention. So I need to reevaluate and work on some foundations to take things to the next level.

Build Foundations

What are you working on right now? As I shared what I need to address, did anything pop into your mind as something you’d like to improve on?

That’s essentially what taking things to the next level means – improving them, streamlining or enhancing. Taking what’s good and making it even better.

If you’re just starting on a project or business endeavor, you want to lay a solid foundation. Get a plan together, consider what your goal of a finished product looks like, and then do your research to learn how to take it there.

Keep in mind, that when you start something, you’ll begin at the beginning. Don’t get started and then become discouraged that others are further along then you. No, you have to start at the beginning, as with almost anything. Put in the time, learn about your project or area of work, and then determine how to do it remarkably well.

Embellish Along the Way

One way to take things to the next level is to embellish them. Add hints of beauty and special touches that make it uniquely your own. Don’t try to carbon copy anyone else’s efforts, but rather make them your own.

As you learn more about the skill or project that you are pursuing, you will most likely notice patterns that are typical and some that are unexpected. As you elevate your efforts, embellishing and making them your own, you will more than likely be inspired as to how to take them to the next level.

But keep this in mind, as in life, work and projects typically are a process. It takes time and self-discipline to become established in what you are doing. Once you are established, you can then embellish the experience and take things to the next level!

Choose A Remarkable Life

Hard work takes a lot of work. Rather an obvious statement, but the point I want to make is this: as Christians, we shouldn’t want to choose the easy road, the path of least resistance. That’s not to say we need to choose to hurt ourselves either, but rather, we should be willing to do the extra work to honor God and represent Him remarkably well.

Choosing a remarkable life is a lot of work. It means evaluating Scripture to know God better, choosing to follow God instead of go the way of the world. But choosing God over the ways of the world is a definite win! A strong spine and a strong heart is necessary to courageously choose something that most everyone else isn’t choosing.

Too many modern day church-goers like to ask, “but what harm does such-and-such do?” I can’t stand questions that feel as if there is no direct way to answer the question. But when I remember to look back to Scripture, I find that Christ Himself was asked questions that He didn’t answer, but rather asked another question in response. So in response one might ask, “in what ways does doing such-and-such help you better represent God?”

Choosing a remarkable life is a lot of work, filled with constant prayer and surrendering to self. But what better way can we take things to the next level for God’s glory?!

May God inspire you with the path He would have you take and the work He would have you do. Ask for His direction and then follow His lead. There is no better way to take things to the next level!

Until Next Time!

Hope.
