Do the work and leave the results to God. I read this quote earlier this week and it really resonated with me.
How often do we get hung up wondering about the details, the conclusion, stuck in the paralysis of analysis? Sometimes we even resist starting or trying something because we don’t know how it will end up. But this quote reminds us of what we know, that God has the details, He has the results, and we need to step out in faith and play our part well.
When the results are not what you want and progress is slow, remember, the Continental Army was also prone to becoming demoralized.
We also have the great lessons from those times in history, like the miraculous fog and a poor decision by an enemy general, that serve as reminders that we are one big break away from victory.
Washington lost and lost and lost … until he won, and then he never stopped.
We do the work. We leave the results to God.

Everyone Struggles
I think it’s so important to realize that everyone has their own struggles – and these struggles come in all forms! The single gal struggles because she doesn’t have someone, while the married woman might struggle to be a good wife. Another person might struggle with their work, their weight, or their finances.
I know I have my own struggles. Some projects are hard for me to start because I know things will be disorganized until the project is complete. Other times I struggle with what project to work on next because so many need to be addressed. And the list goes on.
But I think it is important to realize in the midst of these struggles, God is there. We can ask for His guidance and then follow His lead. Perhaps His lead is direct and obvious (my favorite!) while other times it is not. When direction isn’t clear even after prayer, use your common sense and make your best judgment call. God has equipped us for what He has for us, so I believe if we will submit to Him, He will bless our efforts even when direction isn’t obvious.
And just as the quote above says, remember even the Continental Army was prone to becoming demoralized and discouraged. But we all know how the story ends – they kept on going and ultimately won an incredible victory! So let us draw inspiration from them and do the work set before us!
One Big Break
One big break away from victory – what an amazing picture that paints for me! God knows the plans He has for each of us, and He has some big breaks and blessings in our future!
Sometimes when skies are gray and things look bleak it can be hard to remember this, but we can rest confident in the knowledge that He is there and He is a good, good Father.
And as the quote reminds us, Washington lost many, many times before he won. Now I don’t know about you, but when I think of George Washington I don’t think of a man who lost a lot. I think of him as one of our founding fathers, strong, a good leader, a godly man, successful, etc. But if he hadn’t been faithful in the work God set before him, he wouldn’t be who we know him as now!
We never know when our big break might happen, we never know when God is going to overwhelm us with His favor and love. But we can be our best for Him by remaining faithful, hopeful, and pressing on with the work He sets before us.
Do the Work
So whether the work you have to do is personal development, for your family, projects for your boss, or fighting for your country, be sure you do it to the best of your ability! Do the work remarkably well and leave the results up to God. And standby – He is about to amaze you with those results!
Until Next Time!
Hope.
