A lot goes on behind the scenes – in everyday life, in work, in running a home, and in running a country.
Even though it may feel like nothing is happening, no progress is being made, I think it is very important to remember that what we see is only the tip of the iceberg.
That is certainly true for you and me. Just between the two of us, I have no idea what you did right before you read this. And you also have no idea what I did leading up to writing it. It really doesn’t matter in the long run, I more want to make the point that what meets the eye is nothing compared to all the thought, work, time, etc, that goes in behind the scenes.
In Your Home
I personally don’t have my own home, but I recently (okay, it has been a few years now, but it still feels recent in the grand scheme of things!) moved into a room by myself. I had shared a room with my sisters for the past twelve or so years and we all chimed in on decor and such. But when I moved in to my own room, everything was up to me. The furniture, the colors, the curtains, the bedding, wall decor, lamps, electrical fixtures, etc, etc, etc. Talk about a lot going on behind the scenes!
Now people might see my room and say they like the look, the aesthetic, but it is just incredible to think of all the details, thought, work, and money that when on behind the scenes!
I really enjoy delving in to these details – I think that is one thing God created women for, to enjoy making a home beautiful and peaceful. God loves details and I believe He created women to love them too!
At Your Work
No matter what work you do, there is so much to accomplish behind the scenes. All the little details add up and produce the overall sum of what you accomplish. Where others might see you completing a project or hitting a major milestone, only you know all that has gone into this moment. Behind the scenes and in the trenches so much more goes on then meets the eye.
It is vital that we remain faithful in these uncelebrated moments. That which isn’t necessarily seen by others is truly where it is most important to hold ourselves to a high standard! Anyone can work at things, leaving clutter and disorganization in their wake. But when we carefully plot our plan in an organized and tidy manner, faithfully considering the details, we will go so much further!
Throughout the Country
So much is going on throughout the country, and indeed throughout the world. Just in the past weeks we have been made aware of things we probably hadn’t considered or known. Many things have been hard to see, but there are things that have excited me greatly!
God. Have you noticed how many people are praying, calling on God, acknowledging Him?! To me this is enormous! Never in my life have I known people outside my family and some close friends to reference God so much as I have heard people across the country doing in recent months. This is phenomenal and remarkable!
So will My word be which goes out of My mouth; it will not return to Me empty, without accomplishing what I desire, and without succeeding in the purpose for which I sent it. – Isaiah 55:11
Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will never pass away. – Matthew 24:35
The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of our God stands forever. – Isaiah 40:8
I don’t know what the future holds, but I do know Who holds our future. God always makes a way for His people and He always provides for us. I believe incredible things are going on behind the scenes and I can’t wait to see where God takes us as individuals and a nation! May God bless you and may God bless America!
