The Beauty of being a Woman

The Beauty of being a Woman

Women are created for beauty – to wear beautiful garments and accessories, to create beautiful crafts and meals, to admire beautiful vistas, to add a beautiful flourish to whatever task our hand falls to. Finding, creating, and appreciating beauty is one of our main strengths.

“She lives, she loves, she laughs. She makes every day a celebration of who she is in Christ”

This was a note my sister-in-law shared with me. I love how beautiful the woman described sounds. She embraces beauty and delights in it! Wouldn’t it be amazing if women everywhere remembered to embrace beauty as an asset, as a strength?!

Beauty: an individually pleasing quality; grace; charm; something extraordinary.

Some might argue that in today’s world there isn’t much beauty to be found. There are so many negative, sad events transpiring. But the truth of the matter is that there have always been and will always be sad, negative events and happenings. But there is so much more beauty than tragedy in life! God constantly provides for His people – that’s amazing! He gives us abundant grace – that’s so generous! He encourages our hearts – such kindness!

Understanding Beauty

So here’s a question, is beauty limited to the appearance of a woman? Oh goodness, no! A woman should definitely seek to represent herself attractively, but her attitude and outlook must be beautiful too!

It is interesting to me to hear some women go on and on about how looks don’t matter – because they do. We are representatives of God, and it is our duty to be exceptional! God doesn’t need anyone mediocre. He is remarkable and amazing – we must do our best to be our own version of remarkable and amazing for Him!

Now I’m not saying that you are only a good representative if you wear Yves Saint Laurent lipstick and Chanel No. 5 perfume. On the contrary, you don’t want to be flashy or stuck up – that isn’t beautiful either! Be beautiful, be extraordinary, in your own particular strengths!

Beauty is found in the little, everyday details of life. It’s found in the way you respond to your younger siblings, how you answer your parents/husband, or the way you represent yourself to the world. It is found in how you handle yourself in public where anyone might be watching and in private where no one else will know.

We all have our own inclinations as to what is beautiful and we should constantly be looking for beauty in order to more fully appreciate it! Share beautiful details with others – each of us has our own perspective and we each notice different things. For instance, my sister might notice the color of a certain flower, while I appreciate the light fragrance – by sharing these details with each other, we have a more heightened appreciation for the beauty of God’s creation!

Being a Beautiful Woman

How do you add beauty to life? Do you represent yourself carefully and well? Does your work have a special flourish? Are you careful and kind with your words? Do you intentionally let people know how much you value them? These are all ways that we can represent beauty and there are innumerable more! Care to share any of your favorites below? I’d love it if you did!

As women, we should let beauty envelop everything we do, say and think. God’s creation is the most remarkable and beautiful thing in the world! Let’s embrace and encourage beautiful things in our lives and the lives of girls and women around us! It is so important!

Until Next Time!

Hope.

  1. I completely agree! Also a Christian lady represents Christ and her family. So dressing like the slum on the side of the road makes us look bad and makes Christanity as a whole look bad. Dressing sloppily can also send a message of fake piety to others around us.It is possible is dress in a becoming fashion and be pretty without being immodestly. God made this world beautiful and He made us to be beautiful in it. So take joy in it and work from the inside out. And while dressing is major, it is so important to remember it isn’t the clothes that makes a person it is your attitude and spirit.

    1. Truly! ♥
