How to Embrace this Season
Do you embrace the season of life that you find yourself in? If you want to live your life to the fullest and be a blessing to those around you, then you really should! And the exciting news is that it isn’t really all that hard – it just takes a bit of a paradigm switch!
Where do you dream of being?
Are you where you want to be? Are you enjoying this season? In some ways you might answer yes, and in others, no. I understand. We all have areas that could improve and others that are simply wonderful! Well, I have news for you – you are right where you are supposed to be! God isn’t waiting for your circumstances to align with your plans or dreams! He is using you right here, right now! Isn’t that exciting?!
“Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your might…” – Ecclesiastes 9:10
So all those dreams that you are dreaming – they are nothing compared to what God has planned and in store for you! He knows and see so much more than we can ever comprehend! Let me stir up your faith, your trust in God’s plan for you! You’re not a “plain, old person”! True, it is easy to get into the rut of thinking like that, but we aren’t any of us plain or old people (I assure you, I’m quite young!)! There is always something of interest in our lives, something that makes us unique from others, that sets us apart! To embrace your season of life, you must understand this!
What are you looking forward to?
I’ve got news for you – every season of life requires waiting. Every. Single. One. That is, of course, assuming that you aren’t racing along at a critical pace trying to do and control everything. Leave the details to God – He’s so good with that sort of thing! (Just a bit of humor there!) Think about it – when you’re young, you’re waiting to grow up and finish school. When you’ve finished school you are waiting to start that dream job or get married. Once married, you are waiting on having children and being a parent. Then, once a parent, you are forever waiting on that little bundle of joy to find their shoes so that you can go for a walk! Then you might be waiting for them to finish school … the story of life has a way of repeating itself.
“For everything there is a season, a time for every activity under heaven.” – Ecclesiastes 3:1
That is why it is so essential to embrace the season that you are in! You don’t want to miss a moment of the joys, the trials and lessons learned, the remarkable breakthroughs, the relationships and friends! You never know how long or short a season might be. Take in the details, all of them! These seasons are full of wonderful stories that you get to be a part of! Enjoy it! Embrace it!
Master your own balancing act!
Finding a perfect balance in life is fiction. Or perhaps it is found by a single, solitary person who lives alone and doesn’t associate with people. What a sad thought – I can’t imagine wanting balance badly enough to pay that price! But I do recognize the desire to find a balance in life. A balance of family and work and friends, with a bit of time for oneself too, to rest and prepare oneself to embrace life fully! (Being run down and exhausted is not the secret to embracing any season of life!)
“Yet God has made everything beautiful for its own time.” – Ecclesiastes 3:11
I once read that the pursuit of a perfect balance in life could most closely be achieved by thinking of it as a balancing act. In a balancing act, the parts are always in motion, each moving to accommodate the other – and I think that is a fabulous way to pursue balance realistically! One size “perfect balance” doesn’t fit anybody, but always adjusting, accommodating, and improving your balancing act does! Yet another important factor to help you better embrace your season!
All things work together! (this includes every season of life!)
I truly believe, as one of God’s people, that all things work together. Every single thing, every single season, every single moment. Even the ones that we wouldn’t choose or don’t understand. God doesn’t ask us to “grade” the seasons He guides us through, to decide whether they are good or lackluster. He has had the entire plan for our lives prepared since the beginning of time. He’s got this!
“And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.” – Romans 8:28
Learn to love where you are – and ask God to work in your heart so that His vision might become your vision too! Don’t waste time bemoaning things that aren’t what you would choose – do yourself a favor and don’t even complete those thoughts! There is so much beauty to behold in God’s world where He has specifically placed us and we should always remind ourselves to look for it!
… to be continued! …
I’ve decided to break this post into two parts so that you have a chance to think about it! I’ll be gone next week on a trip with my parents and sister, but I will schedule part two to post in my absence! I can’t wait to hear your thoughts!
Until Next Time!
Hope.
