Support Our Troops
I believe as American Ladies we should support our troops. What better way to show them how grateful we are to them for their service to our country?! After much research, these sites receive my highest recommendations:
Green Beans Coffee (http://www.greenbeanscoffee.com/)
This coffee shop started with the goal of providing the comforts of coffee shops back home to troops while deployed. They allow you to send a cup of coffee with a note to Soldiers for as little as $2. The Soldiers often send back notes of thanks too, which is really nice! The coffee is sent to our troops at random – you never know whose day you might brighten! To send a Cup of Joe click here.
Any Soldier (http://www.anysoldier.com/)
Of all the sites I’ve found to support deployed Soldiers with care packages, Any Soldier really is my favorite! You can read through many requests from Soldiers and their units. Some Soldiers provide lots of detailed information of what they could use, while others say that they would be grateful for anything. I like to read through the requests and pick different ways to support them. For a while I sent the Soldiers stories on CD, so I would have to find a unit that mentioned they had a CD player. Then I decided that I wanted to send at least one package to each division in the military and had fun picking a unit from each division. One year, I sent two boxes a month! That was a fire drill!
Do keep in mind that you might not always hear back from the Soldiers, but know that they do value the packages and your support very, very highly! We are blessed to be part of such a great nation – we should do our part to encourage those who serve for us!
So tell me, how do you support our troops? Do you send them care packages while deployed? Send letters and notes of encouragement? Coffee and treats?
Until Next Time!
Hope.
